The Watford City Police Department is proud to announce that we are accepting applications for Police Officer positions. Responsibilities include: patrolling the community of Watford City, enforcing state laws and city ordinances, providing community policing, crime prevention, performing investigations, responding to emergency situations, and other community caretaking functions.

Watford City is located in the heart of the Bakken and is the fastest growing city in North Dakota. We are a community policing agency in a city that is family oriented with great schools, parks, and recreation opportunities. There are many opportunities for specialty assignments and promotion with our growing department.

Entry level officer’s salary range is $63,496.97 - DOE plus medical, dental, vision, deferred compensation plans, NDPERS retirement, Flex Spending, paid holidays, paid time off, life insurance, employee assistance program, and Aflac. Other benefits include take-home patrol vehicle, all uniforms, and equipment supplied, and more.

Candidates need not be post eligible to apply. Preference will be given to post eligible or licensed applicants and those with military experience. Lateral transfers considered.
